New interface solution – using data from lightweight equipment for business processes

Motorenfabrik Hatz supports its customers' business models with connected solutions. Hatz Connected Services make scenarios that are familiar from the automotive and agricultural machinery industry possible without using another app. Customers are provided with all relevant engine information and analyses via multifunctional, standardised interfaces to aid efficient use of resources. 

“The basic thinking behind this is that all engine control system data is made available and is imported into any chosen customer system. This allows customers to access the information as desired via their own systems and to use it for their individual purposes. There is no need for an additional app. However, if the customer does not have a dashboard, Hatz likewise offers its own solution,” says Dr. Maren Hellwig, specialist in Internet of Things at Motorenfabrik Hatz. The solution follows the basic principle of “everything from a single source”. For the companies, this means an increase in productivity.

The connected solutions and the data from the interface massively simplifies the processes for the customer. It can make determining location or remote monitoring from the company's headquarters a reality. Hatz Connected Services allows machine manufacturers, owners, users, workshops and rental companies to benefit from the data via the engine control system or external information such as weather, traffic, data and delivery services. 

Regardless of whether data originates from an engine control device, it is pooled by Connected Services and provided as a consolidated data package. The data transfer is individually linked to the corresponding requirements as well as to the available software and IT infrastructure. The advantage for customers is obvious: service technicians know about the state of the engine before they travel to the customer, meaning that they arrive best prepared for the service or maintenance. This means significant time and cost savings.
