Market launch of a new engine generation with E1 technology

Three single-cylinder models from the B-series and D-series are available now.

Motorenfabrik Hatz launches its new E1 technology with the world’s first engine control unit for single-cylinder industrial diesels. With all this, the engine specialist is bridging the gap between engines that were once mechanically controlled and the requirements of modern companies with digital operations. This is an important milestone for the development and future of light equipment, especially for mechanical engineering companies. At the top of the power range there is an engine model from the D-series, followed by three B-series engines.

Hatz D-series: The single-cylinder diesel engine with revolutionary technology

The Hatz D-series is ideally suited for demanding tasks. Its primary features are high power output and flexibility. The engines can also be freely configured. With up to four power take offs, the Hatz D-series offers more opportunities for the customised layout of a machine than any other engine on the market. The leading model with E1 technology, the 1D90E delivering 14.7 horsepower (11 kilowatts), is one of the most powerful single-cylinder diesels in the world. Depending on the required engine speed, it can deliver up to 29.5 poundforce feet (40 Newton meters) of torque.

Hatz B-series: The flexible solution for every sector

The Hatz B-series scores well in mobile and stationary use with its compact installation dimensions and its low weight in every application. The model series also sets standards in terms of durability and service life. Whether on a vibrating plate or in the inhospitable environment of the Antarctic, the Hatz B-series has proven its worth hundreds of thousands times over in harsh environments. The Hatz 1B50E, 1B30E and its sibling model with a vertically aligned crankshaft, the 1B30VE, cover the power ranges up to around 10.7 horespower (8 kilowatts) and 6.7 horespower (5 kilowatts) respectively with extremely compact dimensions. The Hatz 1B50E achieves up to 19 poundforce feet (26 Newton meters) of torque; the other two deliver up to 11 poundforce feet (15 Newton meters).

Digital future of compact applications

In the midst of a next major step towards Industry 4.0, the E1 technology is the starting point for the digitisation of compact engines for the German engine specialist Hatz. For example, hand-guided machines, mobile light masts or power generators are being taken into a networked future. Features include the availability of data on all engine performance characteristics, the possibility of round-the-clock localisation, evaluation of equipment utilisation or the ability to perform remote diagnostics and maintenance.

Award winning technology and engines with emissions certificates for Europe and North America

The E1 technology has also been honoured in the USA for the achievement of the year 2019 with the Diesel Progress Award. The latest engine generation with E1 technology has also obtained the emissions certificates according to the currently applicable US standard EPA Tier 4 Final and the European EU Stage V emissions level. This is the first time that single-cylinder diesels with electronic fuel injection and engine control have been certified.
