New Branch Manager in South Africa

By January 1st 2020 Motorenfabrik Hatz appointed Johan Joubert as new Managing Director/ Branch Manager for Hatz South Africa. The branch for the EMEA region is based in Johannesburg and is a wholly owned subsidiary of Hatz in Germany. The major task of Johan Joubert is to expand the operation in sales, service and distribution from Sub-Sahara activities to that of all of the English speaking African Nations, for which the responsibility has been transferred from headquarters to Hatz Diesel South Africa at the same time.

Johan Joubert was previously employed as General Manager, Business Development in the Agriculture Business Unit with BHBW South Africa (Pty) Ltd, a Barloworld and BayWa joint venture company, one of the leading players in the South Africa Agriculture Market.

His career journey covers more than 30 years of specialised technical, application engineering, service, sales, operational and general management roles with South African based distributors of leading brand products. These include Caterpillar, Deutz, John Deere, Claas, Cummins and Massey Ferguson.

Johan is passionate about creating power solutions that will add value to customer operations and has successfully delivered on various new engine installation, repower and power generation projects with two major engine manufacturers. He believes in high performance teamwork and empowering individuals to develop their full potential. Johan brings a results driven dynamic towards business development to support strategy and growth initiatives of Hatz in Africa and to ensure profitable business result for the worldwide acting company.

Joe Wilmer, who previously has been in charge of the South African subsidiary for seven years and jointly in the UK for 15 years, hands over the day-to-day operation activities to Johan Joubert for South Africa. Joe will remain fully responsible for the UK operations as Managing Director and will take on additional duties for a newly created position in the headquarters.

The position as Head of Distribution EMEA will make Joe Wilmer accountable for the Business Development of all Hatz owned sales & service subsidiaries in Europe and Africa. This includes namely Hatz-France S.A., Hatz Nederland BV, Motores Hatz España SLU, Hatz Italia S.r.l., Hatz Great Britain Ltd., Hatz South Africa, Hatz Germany West in Darmstadt, East in Wiedemar and North in Hamburg. The change is effective from January 27^th 2020.
