Robert Hapfelmeier is the new CFO of Motorenfabrik Hatz
Motorenfabrik Hatz started the new year with a change in top management. Robert Hapfelmeier is the new Chief Financial Officer (CFO) since January 1, 2024.

The Munich native succeeds Markus Herber, whose appointment is temporary. Together with Dr. Simon Thierfelder, the current Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Robert Hapfelmeier forms the new top management of the Germany technology company.
Robert Hapfelmeier has many years of experience in corporate management. Among other things, the proven financial expert worked for seven years as commercial director at an international, medium-sized automotive supplier. The business administration graduate was also responsible for turnover and staff on a scale similar to Hatz for several years. "That is one of the reasons why he is an excellent fit for us," explains Simon Thierfelder. "First and foremost, we chose Robert Hapfelmeier because of his personality and expertise, and we are delighted that he joined us."
At Hatz, Robert Hapfelmeier will contribute his expertise in the departments of Controlling, Finance, Human Resources, Legal, IT and Purchasing and assume responsibility for these areas. "I am taking on this new role because I am enthusiastic about Hatz and the performance of its employees," says Hapfelmeier on joining the Motorenfabrik. "I would like to thank the shareholders, the Advisory Board and Dr. Thierfelder for the trust they have placed in me."
At the age of 49, Robert Hapfelmeier joins Hatz with a proven track record of strategic corporate alignment and profitable sales growth. He also brings with him a wealth of experience in process and cost optimisation. In his private life, the family man holds a black belt in karate and is a karate trainer. "Whether in sport or at work, I attach great importance to the principle of 'encouraging and challenging' and therefore a strong sense of responsibility from us as managers towards our employees," says Robert Hapfelmeier, making the connection between martial arts and his role as CFO. "This includes treating each other with respect and openness and living these values. A strong focus on teamwork and results is also important to me: talking and listening to each other a lot, leading with goals, driving the transformation forward in an exciting environment and thus achieving the desired results. After all, that's what counts in the end."
Together with Dr. Simon Thierfelder and the international team at Hatz, he wants to continue along the path of strategic reorientation already embarked upon with the name "Hatz 2030 – 150 years of excellence" and drive the company forward. Thierfelder: "We are in the midst of a transformation process to become an innovation-leading solution provider for smart drive systems. By sustainably increasing profitability and investment capacity, we want to work together to ensure the future viability of Hatz."
